Half-Life: Hazard course

Half-Life: Hazard course Description

the training facility at black mesa houses the hazard course to help users of the hev suit hone their skills at jumping, crouching, and combinations of both – everything you’re going to need to worm your way out of a facility that’s crashing down at your heels as aliens appear in flashes of green light all around.

hello, and welcome to the black mesa hazard course, where you’ll be trained in the use of a hazardous environment suit. i am your holographic assistant.

scientists observe from windows on the side, marking your performance on clipboards. they congratulate you on doing well and you aim to impress. towards the end, there is instruction on how to use the long jump module, as well as instructions on how to interact with objects in the environment.

sector a training facility is one of the seven main sectors of the black mesa research facility. it is connected to the green line of the black mesa transit system.

encountered in all four of the original half-life games, sector a’s training facility contains the separate hazard courses used for training scientists (predominantly in the use of the hev suit in the standard “black mesa hazard course”) and security guards (in the “black mesa hazard course for security guard training”).

demonstrations are provided by trained instructors or prerecorded holographic assistants, whilst participants are constantly monitored by observing scientists. the two known hazard courses are apparently built over old, disused industrial maintenance sectors of the facility, and are each divided into an obstacle course for physical training, and a target range for firearms training.
